Marilyn Gaye Thomas
Marilyn “Midge” Gaye Thomas, 90, of Washington, died Saturday, November 27, 2021, in Transitions Health Care, Washington.
She was born November 25, 1931, in Lowell, Ohio, the daughter of the late Evrett Parsons and Viola V. Longfellow Zink.
Marilyn graduated from Wheeling High School and retired from Washington Hospital, where she worked in housekeeping.
She enjoyed going to the cemetery with “Squirrel” to look for deer, camping and fishing, and going on cruises, but mostly she loved spending time with her family.
Marilyn was a member of Allison Avenue Baptist Church.
On June 20, 1953, Marilyn married Albert “Squeek” J. Thomas, who died August 10, 1968.
Surviving are three daughters, Karen L. Creek (the late Robert) of Washington, Diane M. DeVault, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Bonnie S. Holmes (the late Bob), of Washington; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Cothran; and her long-time companion, Robert “Squirrel” L. Gallagher.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 2. Interment will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
