John A. Rohaly, 80, of Bethel Park, died Monday, October 4, 2021, in St. Clair Hospital.

He was born May 28, 1941, in Pittsburgh, a son of Andrew and Helen Gereg Rohaly.

John attended the Baldwin schools until his senior year, graduating from Snowden High School in 1959. He attended a special arts program through Carnegie Mellon University prior to opening his first studio in Pittsburgh. Mr. Rohaly was a self-employed graphic designer in the sales and marketing industry.

John was a member of the St. Clair Alliance Church, where he was very active with the men’s ministries, especially the Friday Morning Group. He was a man of faith and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ for his salvation. Having survived two bone marrow transplants and total ACL replacements in both knees, he loved to share how God has worked in his life.

Mr. Rohaly enjoyed stamp and coin collecting when he was younger, was a car enthusiast, current event junky and an expert grass cutter and landscaper.

He loved blue grass music and enjoyed attending concerts with his son. There was also his fellowship at the local Leaf and Bean with some special friends.

John loved to hear the news of what his grandchildren were doing and was so proud of each one.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Joan Twigger Rohaly; a son, Gregg Rohaly and wife, Holly of Pittsboro, N.C.; two daughters, Jamie L. Bonazzoli and husband A.J. of Scenery Hill, and Melissa Brower of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Jenna, Brock and Sabrina Rohaly and Madi Bonazzoli; and several cousins.

Friends and family will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 7, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. A memorial service in St. Clair Alliance Church is being planned at a time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of one’s choice.
