Andrew Anthony Babyak

Andrew Anthony Babyak, 81, of Carmichaels, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown, after a brief illness of cancer.

Andrew was born May 31, 1940, in Crucible, the son of the late Andrew Babyak and Anna Zuncic Remik Babyak.

On October 1, 1965, he married the love of his life, Catherine Louise Cybak.

Andrew is survived by 2 children, Scott Babyak, at home, and Janice Baer (David), of Crucible; 3 sisters, Josephine Putila, of Ronco, Linda Boyd, of Dumfries, Va., and Joyce Wood, of Lakewood Colorado. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to his parents, and wife Cathy; are a brother George (Babi) Babyak; and 2 sisters, Dolores Petrosky and Lois Demchak.

Mr. Babyak was a coal miner at Nemacolin Mine until it closed and was a member of the UMWA Local #6290. He retired from Advanced Security where he was a security guard at the former Hatfield Power Plant.

Family and friends will be received at Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home Inc., Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director / Supervisor, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 8, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, October 9.

The funeral service will start at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
