Twila Joan Knotts, 80, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare in Washington.

Born April 25, 1941, in Jollytown, daughter of the late Harvey and Edith Gump Six; Beloved wife of the late Deward Knotts, Jr.; mother of Cody (Emily) Knotts of Wurtsboro, N.Y., and Christal (Kurt) Haverstock of Beaver; grandmother of Joshua and James Beatty, Nicholas, Winston, and Nathaniel Knotts; great-grandmother of Kinley Beatty; sister of Peg Thompson and the late David “Bud” Six, Glancey “Pete” Six and Mary Lou Six.

Also survived by her former daughter-in-law Cindy Wildman Knotts with whom she was close. Twila loved her family and friends and formerly worked at the Claysville Weekly Recorder.

Twila was active in her church and community throughout her life and was an avid volunteer at the Washington Senior Center, Christian Outreach and American Legion.

Services are private. A memorial service is being planned for December.
