Juanita “Jean” Lloyd, of Strabane, passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the age of 85.

She was born on December 12, 1935, the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Pierre Dehosse of Strabane.

For a time, she and her family resided in Bicknell, Indiana, and it was always a pleasure to hear her accounts of those wonderful childhood memories. Throughout her life she would say, “Everyone is so good to me!”

Jean’s love of roller skating led her to meet, and eventually marry, William “Bill” Lloyd and together they had four children. She was a baseball mom, a dance mom, and was lovingly known as “Grandma Lloyd” to so many, too numerous to count.

She was employed in food service at Mayview State Hospital, working there for over thirty years. She was a member of the S.N.P.J. Lodge #138, and the VFW #191, of Strabane. She also looked forward to her monthly AFSME Union meetings with her former co-workers.

Jean loved everyone, was always cheerful, and her patience with people was remarkable! She made many life-long friendships while bowling, playing bingo, and upon occasion, golf. One of her favorite sports was fishing, but please don’t forget a can of Pepsi and a straw!

Surviving are a brother, Perry “Pat” Williams, of Houston; a son, Bob Lloyd, Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Joann; former daughter-in-law, Debbie Lloyd; and she was blessed to have a special bond with her neighbor, daughter-in-law, and caregiver, Tina Lloyd, with whom she shared so many wonderful memories. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Blessing her life are her grandchildren, Bob (Heather) Lloyd, Jr., Charity Lloyd, Bill (Tracie) Lloyd III, John (Christina) Lloyd, David (Nichole) Lloyd, Anthony (Carrie) Vucich, Robbie (Amanda) Haught, and Adrienne (Lauren) Haught.

Also lighting up her life were her great-grandchildren, Brayden and Ayceton Lloyd, Billy and Kenny Lloyd, Hunter Lloyd, Kendle Haught, Romen Simonlli, and and the Newest addition, baby Elliot Joseph Vucich, along with great-great-grandsons, Giovanni and Lorenzo Mussolino.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Transitions Healthcare for all their support, the social workers, and also the wonderful ladies from Gallagher Hospice Care.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, 304 W. Pike Street, Canonsburg, PA 15317, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 15.

All other services are private and entrusted to Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Directors, Inc., Charles R. Piatt, owner/supervisor, Andrew C. Piatt, director.
