Donald W. Martin
Donald W. Martin, 84, of Avella, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021, in his home, with his daughter, Nina by his side.
He was born December 31, 1936, in Avella, a son of the late Charles Edward and Nina Powelson Martin.
Donald attended Trinity High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, honorably discharged in 1962.
Donald was a hard worker. He worked as a foreman for Brockway Glass for 38 years, drove a school bus for Avella Area School District for many years, and finally retired from Humbart Lane after working several years in maintenance.
Donald was a lifelong resident of Avella.
He enjoyed living and working on the farm, spotting deer and spending time with his family.
In October of 1955, he married VaunEida Henderson, who passed away October 18, 2016.
Surviving are two daughters, Nina Le Claire of Monticello, Minn., and Diana (Craig) Penney of Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Larry), Beth (Steve), Desiree (Sam), Nina (Antonio); 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are a great-grandson, Zachary Weiss; and a son-in-law, Richard Le Claire.
A private graveside service will be held in West Middletown Cemetery.
