Etta L. Kokoska

Etta L. Kokoska, 79, of Daisytown (West Pike Run Township), passed away Friday, October 15, 2021, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born January 14, 1942, in Clover Hill, a daughter of the late John and Hilda Phillips Ames.

Mrs. Kokoska was a 1959 graduate of California Area High School and also studied typing at Penn Commercial in Washington.

Etta was employed as the head of the California Area High School cafeteria retiring after 38 years of service.

She was a charter member of the Garwood Baptist Church, a member of PSERS and served two terms on the California Area School District School Board.

Mrs. Kokoska enjoyed camping and was devoted to her grandchildren.

On July 23, 1961, she married Charles Kokoska Sr., who died January 10, 2008.

Surviving are two children, Dr. Charles Kokoska (Donna) of Millsboro, and Jennifer Kadash (Jason) of Daisytown; a sister, Emma Lou Kistler of Coal Center; five grandchildren, Chad, Matthew and Joshua Kokoska, and Xander and Maximus Kadash; along with several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a son, Theodore Kokoska, who died in December 1997; five brothers; and three sisters.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 21, with Pastor Kevin Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
