Beata “Bea” Joan Melvin, 85, of Canonsburg, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, peacefully, in her home, with her daughter, Terry by her side. She was born June 1, 1936, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Beata Peczko Karl.

Bea lived most of her life in Canonsburg. She worked at Eat’n Park in Peters Township as a hostess for 24 years. She enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales and spending time with her family.

On May 27, 1955, she married Frank W. Melvin Jr., who passed away April 19, 2008.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Susan (J.T.) Totterdale of Canonsburg, Penny Richmond of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Terry Melvin of Canonsburg; grandchildren, Jamie Totterdale, Amanda, Leslie and Cassie Richmond; and great-grandchildren, Hailey, Jackson and Brantly Puckett, Riley and Maisie Bea Lyke, and Payton Sue Roney; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are her son, David G. Melvin; and brothers, Lawrence and John Karl.

Friends and family are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 24, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where funeral services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, October 25, with Pastor Joe DiDonato officiating.
