Wilda A. Dorsey Lemley

Wilda A. Dorsey Lemley, 98, of Waynesburg, formerly of Mt. Morris, went to her heavenly home at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021, in the Evergreen Personal Care in Waynesburg.

She was born Monday, April 9, 1923, in Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clarence Dorsey and Georgia Newbraugh Dorsey.

Mrs. Lemley was a graduate of University High School Class of 1941 and Heiskell Memorial Hospital in Morgantown in 1946, when she began a 37-year career as a registered nurse. She was employed at the St. Vincent Pallatti Hospital in Morgantown until its closing in 1977. Wilda retired from Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown in 1983. She loved nursing and had a compassion to help others.

Wilda was a lifetime member of the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, where she was a gifted pianist and her love for music continued with nursing home ministry, community and social events. Wilda played for Bible studies at Evergreen Personal Care Home when her health permitted.

Wilda married the love of her life, Clark G. Lemley, June 26, 1946, and was married 62 years until his passing October 14, 2008. Wilda loved her family dearly.

Surviving are one daughter, Monna Sue Phillips and her husband, Ron of Mt. Morris; grandson, Jeff and his wife, Lori Phillips and great-grandsons, Levi and Chase Phillips, all of Mt. Morris; one daughter-in-law, Susan Lemley of Waynesburg; and granddaughters, Denise Fox Patterson of Canonsburg and great-grandchildren, Paige, Alex and Grace Patterson, all of Canonsburg, Lori Fox Cain and her husband, Paul and great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Matthew Cain, all of Taylorsville, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. Wilda was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are one son, William D. Lemley; one brother, John Parker Dorsey; and one sister, her twin, Wanda Irene Dorsey, who died in infancy.

Wilda’s family would like to thank the Evergreen Personal Care Staff and OSPTA Hospice for their great care and kindness.

Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the time of the service, Monday, October 25, in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner / director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mount Morris, PA 15349, with Pastor Becky Rudash officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
