Geoffrey Yonika

Geoffrey E. “Geoff” Yonika, 54 of Eighty Four (Somerset Township), passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 in Donnell House, Washington.

He was born October 20, 1967 in North Huntingdon Township, a son of the late Edward and Vera Mance Yonika.

Mr. Yonika was a 1985 graduate of Norwin High School.

He was employed as a truck driver with Old Dominion Trucking in Eighty Four, for over 15 years.

Geoff was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church Washington, where he occasionally served as an usher.

He enjoyed working out at the Wellness Center in Washington, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and traveling.

On June 22, 2014 he married Laurie Locy Yonika who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a stepson Alan Harvey of Eighty Four; a brother Karl Basa (Paring) of Oviedo, Fla.; a sister Maria Nicholson of Irwin; a step sister Kristy Maywwod (Joe) of North Irwin; brother-in-law Dennis Locy of Washington; sister-in-law Lisa Ruschal of Scenery Hill; several very close aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Greenlee’s Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 29, with Pastor Laura Saffell officiating.

Interment will be in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, Irwin.
