Eva Tomassetti
Eva Tomassetti, 87, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 28, 2021, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 11, 1934, in Muse, a daughter of the late Giovanni D’Amico and Pasqualina Lombardozzi D’Amico. She was a first generation Italian. Her parents immigrated from Roccacinquemiglia, Abruzzo, Italy.
As Italian was her first language, she taught her mother English when she was able to go to school in Muse.
Eva worked as a reading aide for Canon McMillan School District for 30 years, where she enjoyed the kids she worked with, and the friends she made.
She thoroughly loved cooking scrumptious Italian meals for her family and friends to enjoy.
Quick-witted and feisty, she was always three steps ahead and enjoyed a good laugh while always ready to lend an ear when needed.
On February 9, 1957, she married her beloved husband, Jerome Tomassetti Jr., who passed away December 2, 2011.
She will be lovingly missed and cherished, beyond words, by her surviving family; her three children, Daniel Tomassetti, John Jerome Tomassetti and Eva Marie (Thomas) Schultz; grandchildren, Julie (Alex) Tomassetti Harris, Katie (Ronita) Tomassetti, along with their mother Jill Tomassetti, John, Anthony, and Luca Tomassetti, Noah Thomas and Anna-Claire Pasqualina Schultz; and great-granddaughter, Piper Kate Harris.
She loved her children and grandchildren with everything in her. She will be so missed, and forever in the hearts of her loving sister, Gloria D’Amico; her sister-in-law, Mary Milligan; cherished nieces and nephews, Lisa Speer, Linda Romano, Sandy Grudevich, Martin Milligan, Tamara Milligan, Christina D’Amico and Alfonso D’Amico; along with lifelong neighbors, Jack and Yolanda; and her dear friend, Mary Jane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 6, in Holy Rosary Catholic Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish, 246 Muse-Bishop Road, Muse.
