Mary T. Shultz

Mary T. Shultz, 91, of Eighty Four (Somerset Township) passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, in McMurray Hills Manor.

She was born October 24, 1929, in Eighty Four, a daughter of the late Bruno and Mary Hamay Palonis.

Mary was a graduate of Bentleyville High School.

She was employed as a physical therapy technician at Washington Hospital, retiring after 25 years of service.

She was a lifelong member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish. She was a devout Christian.

Mrs. Shultz enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She especially enjoyed suspense and thriller books. She also enjoyed word search puzzles.

Surviving are four children, Gary Shultz (Rose) of Washington, Loretta Nicholson of Fayette City, David Shultz (Barbara) of Huston and Stephen Palonis (Sheila) of Eighty Four; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two sisters, Agnes Peters and Veronica Kovacicek; and a brother, Bruno Palonis Jr.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, in Greenlee’s Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 9, with the Rev. Edward Yuhas officiating. Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited by the St. Katharine Drexel Outreach Organization at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
