Richard L. Linton
Richard L. Linton, 76, of Beallsville, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in Transitions Healthcare Washington.
He was born February 28, 1945, a son of the late Arthur L. and Ada Thompson Linton Sr.
Mr. Linton was a graduate of Bentleyville High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1965 to 1971.
Richard was previously employed at General Motors, a truck driver for different companies in Lordstown, Ohio, several dairy farms in the area, and was lastly employed at Beallsville Cemetery, where he became superintendent in 2006.
He was a 14-year member of Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391, Fredericktown.
A true history buff, Richard became very interested in tracing the history of the Hill family.
On December 10, 1983, he married Cynthia Ford Linton, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Martin Linton (Lisa), Denise Taylor (Bill) and Gary Linton, all of Austintown, Ohio; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Linton (Jackie) of Kentucky and Wayne Linton (Toni) of Yukon; a sister, Sharon Hamilton (Terry) of Niles, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Kenneth Linton, and Arthur Linton Jr., who died in infancy.
Friends will be received 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, with Pastor Montey Turner officiating.
