Eugenie “Genie” Sakal of San Marcos, Calif., formerly of Houston, passed away at the age of 86 Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

She was born September 30, 1934, in Maine, a daughter of Colen and Teresa Dyer, both deceased.

Genie was admired for her patience, kindness and perseverance. She will remain in many hearts for years to come.

Genie leaves behind her children, Norma Conner, Jeff (Paula) Sakal, Kimberly (Roger) Nixon, Kristy Sakal, Coleen (Michael) Nastasi and Kerry Sakal; 18 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; and 11 siblings.

Proceeding her in death were her son, Keith Sakal; grandson Jeramy Sakal; son-in-law David Conner; daughter-in-law Sophie Sakal; and sister Madonna Robinson.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. (Pacific Time) Thursday, September 16, in St. Frances X Cabrini Catholic Church, 12687 California Street, Yucaipa, CA 92399.
