Mark Nicholls, of New London, N.C., loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021.

Mark was born April 26, 1956, in Washington Hospital to parents Dr. S. Glenne and Colleen Nicholls.

Following Washington High School, he graduated from Bowling Green University, and received a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Georgia.

Mark enjoyed a long and varied working life, which began as a morning paper boy for the Washington Observer and included Allied Signal, Progressive Insurance, Honeywell, Bank of America and Sony Corporation. The focus of his career migrated from human resources, to company real estate management that incorporated his deeply-held commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

He was devoted to his family and his planet, and will be fondly remembered by his many friends.

Mark is survived by wife Amy; son Brian of Roswell, Ga.; daughter Sarah of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; three grandchildren; his mother, Colleen of Washington; and three brothers, Sam, Barry and Craig.
