Thomas C. Appel Sr.
Thomas C. Appel Sr., 67, of Fredericktown, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, in Havencrest Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
He was born October 23, 1953, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Charles F. and Loretta Spinneweber Appel Jr.
Mr. Appel was a 1972 graduate of Beth Center High School.
He was employed by Appel Rental Services as an audio/visual specialist for 25 years.
A family man and workaholic, Thomas enjoyed cooking, sailing and animals, especially horses and horseback riding. He was also a Star Trek fan, and an avid reader.
On June 12, 1976, he married Susan Donovan Appel, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Jessica Appel of Charleroi; four grandchildren, Eve, Olivia, Gavin and Emma; two brothers, George Appel (Kelly) of Centerville Borough and Bill Appel (Trish) of Zollarsville; a sister, Mary Jane Appel Hemlin (Steve) of Washington D.C.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a son, Thomas C. Appel Jr., who died August 29, 2021; and a brother, Charles F. “Monty” Appel III.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 12, in the Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown.
