Jean Marie Seese Phillips
Jean Marie (Seese) Phillips, of Norfolk, Va., was called home to finally rest in peace Monday, September 6, 2021, following a brief illness with Covid-19.
She is survived and cherished by her children, Alexa and Mason; mother, Roberta; father, Edward Seese (Jean); sister, Leasha; niece, Naomi; and fiance, Derek.
Jean Marie was a devoted and adoring mother to her children. The happiest years of her life were during her marriage and time with them; her commitment to their joy was her everlasting goal and one accomplished to the best of her ability. Jean Marie’s encouragement and efforts for them to be loving, independent and successful people was without question.
A family-oriented person, nothing was more important to her than her loved ones. She cherished her mother who was her best friend, in every manner. Her admiration for her sister and niece was never ending and her encouragement for their success was genuinely dedicated. She was deeply in love with and supportive of her fiance and will leave an unfillable void for all of them.
While life had often given her much to contend with, she always persevered with strength and resiliency. A fighter to the end, she overcame many obstacles in her too short life. Her humor, passion and zest will be missed in ways too hard to express in words. She was absolutely one of a kind!
The family would like to thank the tireless efforts and care provided by the Sentara Leigh hospital.
A private memorial to honor her life is being provided by the Vincent Funeral Home 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for a contribution in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Tributes may be posted at www.vincentfh.com.
