Joyce Eileen Streator
Joyce Eileen Streator, 72, of Washington, died Thursday, September 9, 2021, in the Wheeling Hospital.
She was born April 8, 1949, in Washington, a daughter of the late Wayne E. and Mary Kay Grove McDonald.
Joyce was a 1967 graduate of Washington High School, graduating at the top of her class. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from California University of PA.
She was a substitute teacher for many years in the school districts throughout the Washington area.
Joyce was a very active member of First Lutheran Church where she was a member of the bell choir. She was also a member of the Martha Washington Garden Club, where she was currently serving as their treasurer. She served the garden club in several capacities.
Mrs. Streator’s greatest passions in her life were her friends and her family.
On June 10, 1970, in the First Lutheran Church, Washington, she married David H. Streator, who died February 1, 2019.
Surviving are two sons, Wyatt Alexander (Tammy) Streator, of Washington, and Wayne Nathan (Jamie) Streator, of Cecil Township; a sister, Nancy A. (J. Arley) Larson, of Maryville, Mo.; a brother, David W. (Janice) McDonald, of Canonsburg; a granddaughter, Alexandra Eileen Streator; three step-grandchildren, Samantha (Kelsey) Shriner, Dominic Anthony Gallichio, and Carlie Rose Gallichio; a great-granddaughter, Layla Marie Jablonski; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in the First Lutheran Church, 92 W. Walnut Street, Washington, with the Rev. Robert Grewe officiating.
Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
