David E. Selway
David E. Selway, 82, of Washington, died Thursday, April 14, 2022, in St. Mary’s Villa, Elmhurst Township.
He was born July 15, 1939, in Seattle, Wash., a son of the late Edward and Kathleen Hague Selway.
David graduated from Trinity High School in 1957 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
He retired from Signode Corp. in 1994, where he was an industrial salesman.
Mr. Selway served his country in the Air Force Reserves.
He was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church.
David enjoyed playing golf, hunting and watching sports. He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. He was very active and involved with his grandchildren’s activities. He loved his family very much.
On August 14, 1961, David married Janis M. Shaffer. They were married for over 57 years when she died January 10, 2019.
Surviving are his daughter, Darlene D’Oro (Lou) of Moscow; brother, Edward Selway of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Nicholas Cataldo (Ali), Kelsey Ross (Brett), Alyssa Murphy (Kyle), Michael Falcone, Evan D’Oro, Nathan Cataldo, Eric D’Oro, Christopher D’Oro and Mia D’Oro; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Easton Cataldo, Sawyer Cataldo, Bennett, Jackson and Carter Ross, and Levi Murphy; son-in-law, Neil Cataldo.
In addition to his wife, David was preceded in death by a daughter, Dian S. Cataldo.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 24, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 25, in Faith United Presbyterian Church, 900 East Beau Street, Washington, with the Rev. Dr. Jason Hefner officiating. All who plan to attend the funeral services are asked to meet at the church on Monday morning.
Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
