Charles Richard Craig, 83, of Carpentersville, Ill., passed away peacefully, in his home, under the care of his family, Monday evening, April 11, 2022. Richard was born in Pennsylvania January 7, 1939, and was a son of the late Charles Calvin and Maude Lohr Craig.

For over 30 years Richard was a loyal and valued employee of Exxon Chemical Co. in Lake Zurich, Ill., and later, before fully retiring, Richard worked as a courier at Al Piemonte Chevrolet in East Dundee, Ill.

On October 22, 1960, he married his beloved wife and best friend Waneda M. Stilwell. For over 55 years, Waneda and Richard lived in Carpentersville and raised their family.

Survivors include his wife, Waneda; their children, Christine Higgins and Kevin (Judy Whalen) Craig; six grandchildren, Jamie (Justin), Toni, Dylon, Christopher, Jeff and David; his 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his son, Frank, in 2021; his son-in-law, Tom Higgins; two brothers, Vance and Robert; one sister, Carol Tharp; and stepfather, W.R. Wright.

Visitation and services were handled by Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee. Burial was in Dundee Township East Cemetery.
