John D. Myers
John D. “J.D.” Myers, 81, of Washington, died Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 21, 1941 in Uniontown, a son of the late John W. and Lucy Lacerenza Myers.
J.D. was a 1959 graduate of Uniontown High School, and went on to attend both Fairmont State College and California University.
He worked in management for both Wendy’s and McDonald’s in the Pittsburgh area.
J.D. was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fly fishing, and was a season-ticket holder1-3, 6-8 p.m. for the Steelers for almost five decades.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. James Parish, Washington, and attended the Immaculate Conception worship site.
On December 26, 1961 in Fairmont, W.Va. he married Stephany Parker. Mrs. Myers survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Loretta (Joseph) Mutobaya of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Virginia (Bruce) Tharp of Washington; a son, Sean (Anita) Myers of Canonsburg; a brother, Frank (Jane) Myers of Tavares, Fla.; five grandchildren, Justin (Megan) Hull, Jessica Hull and Magan Hull, Nicholas (Jenna Ablak) Myers and Alexander Myers; four great-grandchildren, Kaydence Jones, Shawn Carroll, Jr., Foster Hull-Carlino and Abenthy Wall-Hull; several nieces and nephews and lifelong, dear friends Tom and Bonita McGowan.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
