Patricia Florence Gardner Okorn
Patricia Okorn, 88, of Dayville, Ct., died peacefully at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home, in Brooklyn, Conn., December 16, 2022, following a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s Disease, Congestive Heart and Lung Failure.
She was born May 20, 1934, in Washington County, a daughter of the late Harold H., and Sarah Strawn Gardner.
Patricia was employed at many occupations in her lifetime, ranging from various factory work, to housekeeping. Her most favorite, and enjoyable, was being a Pet Groomer.
Patty occupied her free time with gardening, nurturing her flowers to their fullest beauty, sewing, camping, fishing, and showing her pet animals, which she acquired many blue ribbons for. She loved nature, butterflies, and birds.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Steiner; four grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren, all of Oregon.
Also surviving are a sister, Mary Bobik; a close first cousin, Marjorie Young; many cousins, all of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her precious little dog, Angel, (Podunk).
Mrs. Okorn is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Okorn; a grandson, Dwayne; brothers, Roy Gardner and Elgy Gardner; and sisters, Ada Louise Collum, and Helen Virginia Victorick.
Interment to be at Claysville Cemetery. At the request of family, a service will be held at a later date.
