Edward P. Goroncy
Edward P. Goroncy passed away peacefully at the Donnell House in Washington on December 21, 2022
He was 69 years old, born on December 27, 1953. He grew up on the late Frank Goroncy and Mary Lou’s Beef Cattle Farm in Scenery Hill
He was a graduate of Bentworth High School and then technical school as an HVAC technician
Mr. Goroncy loved God and was a Christian. It was very important to him that his children also knew God and that they would one day meet again.
Mr. Goroncy had many hobbies. He found great enjoyment out of collecting and restoring antiques, especially those that were from his childhood. One of his most prized possessions was his Farmall H tractor, which he also restored and that was his late Fathers. He also enjoyed going to tractor pulls, the Washington County Fairs, playing his guitar. Mr. Goroncy had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed riding quads, hiking, riding his antique trail bike, gardening,
He was a very skilled mechanic and electrical technician that could fix just about anything that was brought to him. He lived each and every day to the fullest and continued to do the things he loved, even as he was battling his illness.
Mr. Goroncy cherished the time that was spent with his grandchildren and enjoyed teaching them things,. He has a very large “Hall of Fame” of all their artwork on his wall and their heights on his door frame.
He had three children, Jeff Goroncy of Bentleyville, Angela Davidson (Rich) of Eighty Four, and Ben Goroncy (Kelly) of Homer City; seven grandchildren, Dominick, Elliott, Brooklyn, Olivia, Luci, Ella, and Ivy; sisters, Sue from Louisiana, Paula (Steve) from Ten Mile, Richard (Ada) from Bentleyville; mother of his children Karen Goroncy; as well as many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are a sister, Cathy formerly of Pittsburgh and brother, Steve of Scenery Hill.
At the request and wishes of the deceased funeral services will be private and handled by Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington. Burial will be at Beallsville Cemetery. An online guestbook may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com.
A memorial gathering will be announced in the future for all extended family and friends of Edward.
