Patty Kraus
Surrounded by family, Patty Kraus, 68, of Canonsburg passed away peacefully Sunday, December 25, 2022.
Born in Hickory on October 11, 1954, a daughter of the late Alma Jarman and Mike Dire.
Patty was a graduate of Fort Cherry High School and received her masters degree at Duquesne University in medical records.
Patty was very talented and could accomplish anything she set her mind to. In the 1980’s she designed one of first line of jeans with holes in them called Calamity Jeans and as a result became a question on the game shows Jeopardy and Hollywood Squares. Patty had many artistic abilities including knitting, macrame, piano, guitar, and jewelry design. Patty’s curious and enthusiastic nature encouraged her to travel and was able to visit many parts of the world during her life. Being half Italian and a descendent of the South, Patty always loved to cook. While dabbling in many areas of cuisine nothing could hold a candle to her favorite, macaroni and cheese. Patty’s last days on earth were a bit of a struggle but no matter how hard life was, Patty never quit trying.
Patty will be sadly missed by her boyfriend of many years Jesse McCullough; her son, Ryan (Jen Terwilliger) Ludwin; her grandchildren (babies), Kendall and Tyler Ludwin; her four sisters, Linda (Tim) Dire- Miller, Jerri (Chester Osiecki Jr) Dire, Tracey (David) Hapchuk and Angel (John) Nunamaker; her niece and nephews Diane Fehl, Nicholas (Eleni) Dire and Christopher (Larissa) Hapchuk; her great- niece and nephew Dexter, Aurora Dire and one precious baby Hapchuk on the way; and her sweet doggies Penny and Gilligan; and joined with her special dog Beans.
Patty’s sweet smile and laugh will never be forgotten. Her spirit will live on and she will always and forever be loved.
Family will be having a private gathering on Thursday, December 29, 2022. flowers are welcome send to Abundant Life Baptist Church, 269 Cameron Rd, Washington and donations to The Donnell House and St. Jude.
