Hazel Dolores Evans Donahoo
Hazel Dolores “PeeWee” Evans Donahoo, 91, of Washington, died Saturday, February 5, 2022, in Premier Washington Health Center, Washington.
She was born June 9, 1930, in Washington, the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Johnson Evans.
Mrs. Donahoo was a 1948 graduate of Trinity High School.
She worked at Brockway and Hazel Atlas, and also was an operator for Bell Telephone.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, playing cards and was an avid bingo player. She traveled extensively in her travel trailer, visiting Florida, Texas, California and Ohio. She maintained property in Big Bear, W.Va..
She was active in 4H and was a lover of horses, which was an important part of her life. She was a member of the Washington Senior Center.
On June 8, 1953, in Winchester, Va., she married John L. Donahoo, Sr.. Mr. Donahoo died September 11, 2009.
Surviving are a son, John L. Donahoo, Jr. of Washington; two daughters, Michelle (Mickey) Abajace of Roanoke, Va., and Judi Crumrine of Washington; a brother, William Evans of Washington; two grandchildren, Michael Abajace and Megan Crumrine; three great-grandchildren, Keegan, Skyler and Ashton Abajace and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Kimberly Lou Donahoo; a brother, Donald Evans; a grandson, Brian “BJ” Crumrine; and a great-granddaughter, Piper Abajace.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m., the hour of services, Wednesday, February 9, in the Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Patricia Donahoo officiating. All other services will be private.
The family asks that all attending wear masks for everyone’s protection.
