Edna Mae Yesenosky

Edna Mae Yesenosky, 94, of Washington, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022, in her home.

She was born October 6, 1927, in Filbert, a daughter of the late William and Virginia Malone Alexander.

Mrs. Yesenosky was previously employed at Citizen Cafeteria in Uniontown, and Michael Berkowitz Shirt Factory, also in Uniontown.

She was an excellent cook and baker, especially desserts and pies, and her signature dish was her famous roast beef. She also enjoyed canning, going to Ponderosa, Country Music Shows and attending auctions with her husband.

In her younger years she liked to spend time with her family camping in Tionesta.

On May 23, 1953, she married George Yesenosky, who died December 12, 2011. They celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Surviving are four children, Anna Mae Bock Piett (James) of Washington, George Yesenosky (Susan) of Gibsonia, Susan Whitfield (Tom) of Scenery Hill, and Judy Gossett of Millvale; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Alexander of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Shirley Medved of Point Marion, and Beatrice Henzly of Hopwood; many nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her husband, are a great-granddaughter, Lillyana Henry; four sisters, Nellie, Valerie, Emma and Dolores; five brothers, William, James, Walt, Donnie and Thomas.

Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022, with Pastor Sue Petritis officiating.

Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
