Richard E. Moore
Richard E. “Dick” Moore, 84, of McDonald, passed on Sunday, February 20, 2022.
He was born on January 17, 1938, in McDonald; a son of Elmer and Doris Poskin Moore.
Richard was a graduate of McDonald High School, and then he joined United States Navy.
He was employed for 27 years by J&L Steel in Aliquippa as a Millwright, where he received an award for designing a maintenance function on a machine. He retired in 1985, and then went to C.C.A.C, where he received his welding certification.
On March 24, 1961, he married, Martha Margaret McMillian, who passed on January 7, 2015.
Rich was a member of McDonald American Legion, the U.S.W.A. local 1211, and a former member of the Iris and Day Lily society. He was an exceptional gardener, painter, and woodcrafter. Rich enjoyed riding his bike on the Montour trail, hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors.
Surviving are four children, Debbie (James) Secreet of McDonald, Richard D. (Julie) Moore of Moon Twp., Shane E. Moore of Waynesburg, and Peggy (John) McFalls of Canonsburg; a brother, Donald L. Moore of Sturgeon; and a sister, Candice Vignone of Bridgeville.
He enjoyed spending time with 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057.
A Committal service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at Robinson Run Cemetery Chapel. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
