Edward T. Brown, Sr., 70, of Avella, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022, in Allegheny General Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born on January 6, 1951, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Joseph Patrick and Gertrude Ann Kratzenberg Brown.

Ed resided in Pittsburgh most of his life; he worked as a cab driver for Yellow Cab, and then moved on the become a delivery driver in the area, retiring in 2017.

Ed was a man of God. He loved his family more than anything, and he loved his animals like they were family. He enjoyed to drive for work, and he could make friends anywhere he went. He liked to tell stories about his past experiences. He was an avid sports fan and most of all, he loved to laugh. Ed would do anything for anyone and that is how he will be remembered, always.

Surviving are a daughter, Raneisha E. Owens, of Washington; a son, Edward T. Brown Jr., of Pittsburgh; his best friends, John Runyon, Angela Latshaw and John Bertovich; and his wife, Sirena Smith, all of Avella.

Deceased in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Joseph P. Brown Jr. and Robert Brown.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
