Helen K. Dye Winters
Helen K. Dye Winters, 72, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
She was born January 6, 1949, in Washington the daughter of the late Howard E. and Ellen Carroll Dye.
Her family was exceptionally proud of her for leaving high school and then obtaining her GED. Mrs. Winters was a graduate of CCAC Allegheny, where she earned her Associate of Science Degree in Nursing.
She loved nursing and spent 19 years as a nurse, most recently working at St. Clair Hospital.
She was a member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Chartiers Township.
She enjoyed playing BINGO and the Pennsylvania Lottery. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her “grandbabies” and great-grandchildren.
On October 23, 1965, in Waynesburg, she married James E. Winters, Sr., who survives.
Surviving are two sons, James (Brenda) Winters, Jr., of Washington, and Jason (Ginger) Winters, of Waynesburg; and a daughter, Stacie (Carl) Warco, of Washington; two sisters, Carol Ann Earliwine, of Washington, and Linda (Glenn) Happe, of Port Charlotte, Fla..
Also surviving are her 13 “grandbabies”, Ryan (Trischa) Winters, Kyle (Julia) Winters, Marrah (Kevin) Winters, Eleni (Chris) Kelly, Marissa (Shannon) Hess, Cheyenne (Joe) Hood, Shania Winters, Jessica Winters, Hunter Winters, Adam (Savannah) Winters, Eric Winters, Justin (Jen) Winters, Joshua Warco; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Frank H. Winters; a brother, Howard E. Dye; a brother-in-law, Richard Earliwine; and a granddaughter, Allison Warco.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022, with Pastor Eric Powell Officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Chartiers Township.
The family respectfully requests that all wear a facemask during the visitation and services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
