Joan I. Dombrowski
Joan I. Dombrowski, 78, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 13, 2022, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg, following and extended illness. She was born April 5, 1943, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Pinchak Banish Jr.
Joan lived most of her life in Canonsburg, where she was a devoted housewife and mother. In her early years, she had been employed at Islay’s and prior to her retirement had been a cook at Hathorne Woods Assisted Living.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Polish National Catholic Church in Canonsburg.
Joan enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, baking and growing flowers in her yard. She was an accomplished artist who painted many beautiful oil paintings.
On September 24, 1966, she married Kenneth R. Dombrowski, who survives after 55 years of marriage.
Also left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children, daughter, Stacy Noel and husband Duane of Bear, Del.; two sons, James (Karla Zaken) Dombrowski of Washington and Timothy (Kari Hite-Vallone) of Groton, Conn.; two grandchildren, Dietrich Yontz and Ashlynn Dombrowski; and two nephews.
Joan was the last of her immediate family. Deceased, in addition to her parents, is her brother, Joseph Richard Banish.
At Joan’s request, there will be no public visitation. Private family visitation and services will be held at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, Erin E Jones LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
