Phyllis Jean Kasavich
Phyllis Jean Kasavich, 72, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in the Washington Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born June 17, 1949, in Washington, a daughter of the late John J. and Mary Helen Rydzak Hustava.
Mrs. Kasavich was a 1967 graduate of Washington High School and a member of St. James Parish. She at one time did volunteer work for St. Elizabeth Church of the San Bernadino Diocese in Desert Hot Springs, Calif.
Mrs. Kasavich was employed at one time by Matthews and Bobbie Brooks Clothing stores and also worked as a housekeeper at the Hilton. She was also employed at the United Cerebral Palsy Association in Washington as a kitchen supervisor from where she retired.
Mrs. Kasavich enjoyed gardening, flowers, hiking and camping. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
On January 19, 1991, she married Andrew Kasavich, who died July 23, 2019.
Surviving is a son, Michael (Cynthia) Chastel of Washington; a daughter, Nichole (David) Clemens of East Finley; five grandchildren, David L. Clemens, Tonya R. Clemens, Michael D. (Karlie) Clemens, Sarrah Scitz and Benjamin (Brianna) Scitz; and four great-grandchildren, Allie and Hunter Clemens, Kenny Keener and Remmie Scitz.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kasavich was preceded in death by a brother, David Michael Hustava.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 17, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor / director, Holly Renay Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, Park N. Crosier, director. A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Lewandowski officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Claysville.
