David Thomas Yencsik
David Thomas Yencsik, 67, of Washington, formerly of Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in Washington Hospital, surrounded by his family. A son of the late Andrew J. and Helen E. Cleri Yencsik, he was born September 17, 1954, in Brownsville. Catholic by faith, he was a 1972 graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School.
Dave dedicated 52 years of his life to the grocery business. In the first four years of his career, he was employed by his father at Yencsik’s Red & White. The store was purchased by the Duritza family and Dave continued his employment with them for an additional 48 years. He retired as a supervisor at Duritza Enterprises in July 2021. The business and the Duritza family always held a special place in Dave’s heart.
On October 12, 1991, he married Robyn Olexa, to whom he was a loving husband for 30 years. He was a devoted father to their two children, David Cameron of State College and Carleigh Brianne of Raleigh, N.C.
In addition to his wife and children, Dave is survived by his seven brothers and sisters, Ronald A. Yencsik (Karen), Kathryn J. Baldauf (David), Edward M. Yencsik, Robert A. Yencsik, Diane E. Hepple (Mike), Linda M. Hines (Kent), and Mary A. Gauden; his mother in-law, Charlotte Olexa; his brothers-in-law, Jonathan D. Olexa (Karen) and Jason T. Olexa (Mary); numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, J. Fred Olexa; and a nephew, Michael A. Hepple.

Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday, January 24, in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, telephone 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Visitation continues in the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of the funeral service, Tuesday, January 25. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
