Olivia M. Callaway was born in Wheelwright, Kentucky on June 12, 1931. She entered Heaven’s gates on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

A loving mother of four, Tonya Jones and Kevin Callaway of Washington, Portia Callaway and Kent Barfield of Richmond, Va..

Olivia graciously extended her loving arms by raising Omani Callaway, Ayanna Callaway, Sharnell Wallace and Justice Walden of Washington, after her grand- daughter’s untimely transition.

Olivia was a mother to many and a proud grandmother to four generations of grand and great-grandchildren; family meant the world to her.

Olivia served as a Deaconess at Friendship Baptist Church in Washington. Olivia was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. For 36 years, she served as a Kitchen Manager/Nutritionist for the Head Start Program here in Washington.

Olivia was active in her community and church, and always was there to pray for you and provide guidance and support. She served as a Youth Coordinator for the Canonsburg chapter of the N.A.A.C.P., and taught Sunday School at her local church.

She was an avid reader, loved gospel music and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Olivia was predeceased by her loving mother, Ethel Jones of Washington; father, Walter Mims, Wheelwright, Ky.; Stepfather, Raymond Jones, Washington; sisters, Evelyn Gross, Hampton, Va., and Juanita Brown, Weirton, W.Va.. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Shawna Davis, Philadelphia.

She is also survived by a host of family and friends and all who loved her dearly. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for her their greatest and warmest gratitude.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor / Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.

Interment will be private.
