Deatra H. Bennington, 77, of Marianna, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born on January 11, 1945, the daughter of the late Levi Morris and Maude Pinkney Morris.

She was a 1963 graduate of Beth Center High School.

On September 9, 1967, Deatra married William H. Bennington, who is deceased.

Together they had two children, Sharon (Jeffrey) Lewis, of Clarksville, and William H. Bennington Jr., of Marianna, both of whom survive.

She was a homemaker and was dedicated to taking care of her beloved family and their home. She also loved her cats and was a member of the former Winnett Chapel Methodist Church in Marianna.

In addition to her two children Deatra is survived by one sister, Shirley Ratica; one granddaughter, Sara (Justin) Stechly; and three great-granddaughters, Jovie Mae, Ziva Jade, and Luca Lynn Stechly.

She is preceded in death by four sisters, Thelma Hutchinson, Dolly Leonard, Edna Mae Reno, Barbara Adamson; and five brothers, Abram, John, Leroy, Edward, and Robert Morris.

Family and friends will be welcomed from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022, in the Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home, 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels. 724-996-5100. The service will follow at 1 p.m.

Interment will be in Horn Cemetery, Marianna.
