Richard K. Ziack
Richard K. Ziack, 85, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Monday, May 30, 2022, in his home.
He was born August 17, 1936, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Charles and Joanne Curnarski Dizack.
Rich lived his entire life in Canonsburg, where he attended Canonsburg High School and was a member of St. Oscar Romero Parish, St. Patrick Church.
He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Richard was a barber who owned Richard Ziack’s Barber Shop on Jefferson Avenue for 67 years, retiring in January of 2022.
He enjoyed golf and spending time with his family.
On April 14, 1962, he married Joanna L. D’Orazio, who survives after 60 years of marriage.
Also left behind to cherish his memory are his two beloved daughters, Christine O’Brien and her husband Paul of McMurray, and Deana Ziack of Canonsburg; his grandsons, Conner and Branden O’Brien; his godson, Dr. Anthony Hogan; sister-in-law, Yvonne Hogan; brother-in-law, Joe D’Orazio; niece, Michelle Magliochetti; nephew, Joseph D’Orazio; and his many friends.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 3, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, June 4. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., with the Reverend Joseph Luisi as celebrant, with Deacon Brian Podobnick assisting in St. Patrick Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
Memorial contributions are suggested to The Cancer Center at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh or the Cancer Center at St. Clair Hospital.
