Ann Elizabeth Ortitay Porchiran
Ann Elizabeth Ortitay Porchiran, 99 of Cross Creek Township, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, June 3, 2022, in the Washington Hospital.
She was born on February 13, 1923, in Avella, a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Ortitay.
Mrs. Porchiran was a lifelong and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, in Burgettstown, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, sang in the parish choir and was one of the original “Pierogie Ladies.” An excellent seamstress she also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and Bingo.
Her husband, John James Porchiran, whom she married on March 3, 1946, passed away on March 26, 1986.
She is survived by her two sons, Bennett John Porchiran and wife, Tricia of Latrobe, and Richard Patrick Porchiran and wife, Kathy of Slovan.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband, is her son, Michael Robert Porchiran; and twin brothers, John Ortitay and Michael Ortitay who died in infancy.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of departing prayers at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1109 Main Street, Burgettstown, with the Rev. Zachary Galiyas as Celebrant. She will be laid to rest in St. Michael Cemetery, Avella.
