Charles H. Gayman
Charles H. Gayman,75 of Washington, formerly from Scenery Hill, died Monday, June 6, 2022 in Presbyterian Senior Care Southmont.
He was born January 16, 1947, son of the late Jacob and Alfleda Knestrick Gayman.
He was a 1965 graduate of Bentworth High School and 1967 graduate of the Pittsburgh Technical Institute.
In 1967 he enlisted into the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam as an Aircraft Mechanic. After several years active duty, he transferred to the 171st Air Force Reserve out of Pittsburgh, serving in Operation Desert Storm, and the early years of Operation Iraqi Freedom until his retirement in 2006.
He is survived by his cousins, John R. Knestrick, Mark W. (Joyce) Knestrick; friend, Barry Baker; and many other lifelong friends.
He was a life member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Scenery Hill. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Masonic Sunset Lodge 237 in Washington, the Chestnut Ridge Grange for 50 years and American Legion Post 175, and was dedicated to the Scenery Hill Cemetery Association.
Family and friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022 in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 13 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. William B. Henry Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
Masonic Services by Sunset Lodge 237 will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday June 9th in the Nichol Funeral Home.
Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Air Force Honor Guard and Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of Washington.
