Mary Jane DeWitt, 88, of Fredericktown, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital.

She was born August 2, 1933, in Scenery Hill, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ethel McCarty Ross.

Mrs. DeWitt was a member of the United Brethren Church of Ten Mile, Marianna.

A homemaker, Mary Jane enjoyed gardening and taking care of others. She especially loved time with her children and grandchildren.

On February 27, 1952, she married Gerald DeWitt, who died August 20, 2021.

Surviving are four children, Debbie Doriguzzi (Bill) of Fredericktown, Duane DeWitt of Buffalo, N.Y., Denise Prodan (Lex) of Carmichaels, and Dana Packrall of Fredericktown; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Allen, Johnathan, Daniel, Joshua, Nina and Nathaniel; eight great-grandchildren, Wren, Connor, Livia, Jaelynn, Ariel, Hunter, Addison and Landon; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are seven siblings, Thelma McKenna, Wilma Johns, Eva Watkins, Robert Ross, John Ross, twin sister Betty Jane Ross, Michael Ross; grandson, Jason Doriguzzi.

Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment will be in the North Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery.
