Robert Francis “Bob” Livingston Jr., 83, of Monroeville, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, while at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob is survived by the love of his life, Janet Jacobs Livingston, his wife of 61 years; and their two children, Jennifer Livingston Rojer (Stanley) of Minneapolis, Minn., and R. Jeffrey Livingston (Lori) of Murrysville; his five grandchildren, Emily Rojer Hurley (Drew), Jacob Rojer (Jenny), Madeline Rojer (Nathan), Christina Livingston, and Katherine Livingston; and great-grandson, Lewis Rojer Hurley; and his siblings, Nancy Magera, Janet Scott, Barbara Husarchik and Charles Livingston (Debbie).

Bob is predeceased by his parents, Robert Livingston and Nancy Anders Livingston; and his nephew, Brian Husarchik.

Bob was born September 13, 1938, in New Eagle, and earned the nickname “Mole” from his childhood friends as his face was often covered in coal dust from picking coal in Cokeburg.

Bob attended Washington and Jefferson College and graduated in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army, Artillery Division.

Bob was a successful sales engineer for the Foxboro Company for much of his career. Upon his retirement, he established L & L Controls.

Bob’s wife and family were his passion, but a close second was his love for all things sports, especially golf, the Pirates and the Steelers. His time as a Little League Baseball coach, his 40-year poker club, and his annual golf expeditions to Myrtle Beach were all things that made his life richer, as were his memberships in the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion.

He is remembered for his generous spirit, competitive playfulness, and in his later years, his determination and grace in battling an extended illness.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, in the Gene H. Corl Funeral Chapel Inc. and Cremation Services of Monroeville, 4335 Northern Pike. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Memorials or donations may be made, in honor of Bob, to the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the ALS Association (www.ALS.org) or the Disabled Veterans (www.DAV.org).

Condolences may be made to the family at www.corlfuneralchapel.com.
