Robert W. Jones
Robert W. Jones, 81, of Eighty-Four, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at home from his battle with cancer.
He was born on August 25, 1940, son of the late Robert C. and Laura Ross Jones. He was a 1958 graduate of Ellsworth High School.
Bob was a machinist by trade. He worked for Brockway Glass as a mold maker, then Crile machine for many years, and retired from Lagonda Machines, where he was a half owner. He also owned and operated ANP Storage and Apartments of Washington, PA.
On July 2, 1988 he married Donna Yates of Eighty-Four, who survives.
He loved to travel. He and his wife took several cruises. His most enjoyable trip was the Panama Canal cruise and the time they spent on the Island of Kauai, Hawaii.
He was a social member of the Elks and Moose Lodges in Washington. He loved to roast a hog or anything he made on his cooker. He loved to party and was always the life of the party.
He is survived by three sons: Bradley (Yahaira) Jones of Florida, Rodney Yates and Dean Yates, both of Eighty-Four; sister, Lisa K. (Jim) Salata of Amity, sister-in-law, Mary Jones Greenfield of Virginia; and Brothers-in-law, Donald Gardner and Sonny (Betty) Holmes of Washington; grandchildren, Robert “Robbie”, Richard “Rickie”, Laurie A., Kristin M., and Bradley Jones Jr., Hunter Burns, Aubree, Hailee, Shane and Kavaya Yates; as well as five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Deceased in addition to his parents, are three children: Robert W. Jones II, Julie L. Jones, and Dane E. Burns; sister, Nadene Gardner; and brother, David Jones.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022, with Rev. John Dykstra officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest lawn Gardens, McMurray.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to AHN Hospice or Pigeon Creek Church.
