James G. Martin
James G. Martin, 80, of Mentor, Ohio, who passed away peacefully, in his home, Monday, November 1, 2021, will be interred in a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Lone Pine Cemetery, Lone Pine, Pa.
Jim was born April 1, 1941, in Lone Pine, to George and Gladys Kelley Martin.
He was a 1959 graduate of Trinity High School in Washington. He served in the US Army, Seventh Army Corps of Engineers, in Germany.
After discharge, he worked at Republic and LTV Steel in Cleveland, Ohio, for 38 years as a supervisor in the bar mill. He then worked 15 years at Walmart in Mentor, Ohio.
He married his high school sweetheart, JoAnn Ray, in 1965.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys Martin; sisters, Betty Chester and Florence Frye; brother-in-law, William Frye; and a nephew, Ronald Frye.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, JoAnn Ray Martin; sons, Jeffrey (Karen) of Fairfax, Va., Timothy (Tammy) of Kent, Ohio; and seven grandchildren, Kyra, Tatiana, Casey, Carter, Kateri, Lauren and Carter James. He will also be missed by many other reletives and friends.
