Rachel Ellen Herron
Rachel Ellen Herron passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at 86 years of age. She was born May 14, 1936, the oldest child of Estella and Ed Herron.
Rachel graduated from Trinity High School. She especially enjoyed time with people and was in her element working at Western Center as a recreational aide for more than 30 years.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed swimming, listening to Bluegrass music, playing Wii bowling, cards and Mexican Train (a game with dominos).
She is survived by two sons, Kevin W. (Nancy) Crile of Midland, Va., and Scott E. Crile of Waynesburg; a brother, James M. (Edith) Herron of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Adam, Cristin, Ashley, Alyssa, Megan and Michael; 13 great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew. She had many close friends, whom she loved dearly and they considered each other to be family.
Preceding Rachel in death was a son, Michael E. Crile.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26.
