Betty Jane Ainscough, 78, of Cecil, died Friday, June 24, 2022, in Washington Hospital.

She was born September 23, 1943, in Cecil, a daughter of the late George and Sadie Bell Eckels Powell.

Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed shopping, cooking, baking and supporting her childrens activities. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy; she loved having Sunday family meals. Over the years Betty was a den mother, dance mom, and a huge supporter of youth football boosters.

Surviving are her husband, David Ainscough of Cecil; sons, David B. (Nancy) Ainscough of Cecil, Frank (Kelly) Ainscough of Wellsburg, W.Va., John (Stacey Miller) Ainscough of Hickory; daughter, Janie (Angelo Golato) Taylor of Cecil; grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Tyler, David T. and Ethan Ainscough; and brothers, Robert “Spook” (Mimi) Powell of Cecil, John “AP” (Kathy) Powell of Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by brother, George Simon Powell; and sister, Patty Brackman.

Friends will be received from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the time of a blessing service, Monday, June 27, in the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil.

Interment will be private.
