Elaine Laveice Carter Brown
Elaine Laveice Carter Brown went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was the first daughter born to the late Emmett Eugene Carter and Mildred Marie Singleton Carter August 21, 1944, in Pittsburgh.
Elaine attended McDonald public school and graduated from Fort Cherry High School in 1962. She briefly attended nursing school in Pittsburgh and also attended Allegheny Community College.
She was employed from 1963 until she retired in 2004. She served in administrative roles for various companies, with her last employer, being Ansys, Inc., located at Southpointe in Canonsburg.
Elaine was united in marriage with Vincent S. Brown June 5, 1971. They were happily married until he departed this life February 19, 1988.
She joined the First Baptist Church, McDonald, at an early age and was most recently a member of the former Palms of Glory, where she served as secretary.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent S. Brown; parents, Emmett and Mildred Carter; and grandparents, Sterling and Mary Carter, Mabel and Ernest Thornhill; brother-in-law, Wade C. Timmerson; stepsister, Linda Gallon; stepbrother-in-law, Dr. David E. Thompson; special sister-in-law, Georgia Lindsay; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She leaves to mourn her stepmother, Mildred Carr Carter; three sisters, Jacqueline M. Timmerson, Lori L. Burke, Melanie L. Carter-Perkins (Mark); stepsister, Patricia Thompson; stepbrother, Joseph Reginald Carr (Carole); godsons, Wade Carter Timmerson and Ryan Lewis; a special son, Gary Williams (Rolanda); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 1, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057. A Going Home Service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, in the First Baptist Church of McDonald, 141 N. McDonald Street, McDonald, PA 15057. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery.
