George David Weaverling Jr.
George David Weaverling Jr., 66, of Humble, Texas, formerly of Southview, passed away in his home, with his son, Cy by his side, Thursday, February 24, 2022. Dave passed away approximately four years after he lost the love of his life, Garnet “GG” Weaverling, who passed away February 23, 2018.
Dave was born October 21, 1955, one of five children to George David and Sarah Hopkinson Weaverling. Dave graduated from Fort Cherry High School in 1973. During his high school years he wrestled and played football. He was a Pittsburgh sports fan and loved the Steelers.
Dave was employed by PDM in August of 1973 and retired from CB&I (formerly PDM) in January of 2022.
On August 28, 1986, he married Garnet “GG” Girasek.
Surviving are his children, Christy Kampos of Bradenton, Fla., Dave (Lisa) Weaverling Sr. of Burgettstown, and Cyril Weaverling of Humble; grandchildren, Tyler and Dakotah McCalmon, Wendy Moreau, Logan Kampos, Allana (Hunter) Galley and David Weaverling Jr.; siblings, Robin (Todd) Yuhas, Tom (Jeni) Weaverling and Ronnie Weaverling. Dave had multiple nieces and nephews. He was especially close with his niece, Stephanie Yuhas, with whom he shared a special bond.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, is his sister, Karen Simpson.
At this time there will be no public services. Arrangements are entrusted to Rosewood Funeral Home in Texas. The family will have a memorial at a later date, in Pennsylvania, where he and his wife were the happiest.
