Anthony “Tony” Patrick Chaildin, 102, of Marianna, died Monday, February 28, 2022, in his home. He was born in West Virginia, on October 17, 1919, a son of the late Michael and Mary Chaildin.

He worked in Marianna Mine 58 for almost 50 years, starting when he was 16 years old and retiring in 1984 as a Fire Boss.

He was a member of former Sts. Mary & Ann Roman Catholic Church, St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, in Marianna. He was a proud volunteer for Meals on Wheels with the Bethlehem Center Senior Center, where he was honored with Volunteer of the Year in 2002. He was also a former member of Marianna Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Secretary. On November 26, 1966, he married Mary Louise Chaildin, with whom he shared almost 30 years of marriage before her passing in 1995. He is survived by a daughter, Jennie Mary Chaildin (Samuel Orlandi); six grandchildren, Derek Hermann, Andrew Hermann, Chelsey Hermann, James Conti, Alexandra Orlandi, and Joshua Orlandi; three great-grandchildren, Dannielle Lynn Hermann, Adee Pratt, and Parker Pratt.

Deceased in addition to his wife and parents, are seven siblings, Anne, Stella, Helen, Margaret “Peggy”, Joseph, John and George.
