Dayle McCoy Kelley
On Saturday, February 26, 2022, Dayle McCoy Kelley passed from this world, and entered into heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Dayle was born in Washington, on November 12, 1946, to Stella Kendall McCoy and John Aaron McCoy. She graduated from Trinity High School in the Class of 1964.
She met and married her husband of 55 years, David M. Kelley, also of Washington. She joined him in Norfolk, Va., in the Navy life, and their first son, Todd Matthew was born in Portsmouth Navy Hospital, in 1968. The new family, returned to Washington in 1969, where their second son, Christopher David, was born in 1971. In 1978, the Kelley’s moved to Raleigh, N.C., where they have lived since.
Dayle was a stay at home wife and mother until the boys were old enough that she was comfortable taking a job. She worked at various administrative jobs, the last 19 years being with the State of North Carolina.
Upon retirement, she and Dave were able to travel more often. Their travels included cruises to many interesting ports of call, such as Alaska, Bermuda, the Caribbean, Norway, Spain, the Panama Canal as well as road trips around the US.
She is survived by her husband and sons; two brothers: James Kenneth (Clarksburg, W.Va.) and John Mark (Washington).
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Ellen, who passed away as a child.
A Memorial Service will be held at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory at 944 Old Knight Road in Knightdale, N.C., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, with a visitation of family and friends to follow.
