John Edward Herron of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 7, 1947, to Nellie Mae and E. Russell Herron in Washington.

Following graduation from Bentworth High School, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served 20 years.

John married Nellie Marie Smith on March 28, 1974, in Columbus, Ohio. During his military career, they lived in Italy, Nevada, and Texas. After retiring from the Air Force, they resided in Chillicothe, Ohio and Bentleyville.

Nellie preceded John in death, passing away on December 9, 2007. John was also predeceased by his parents and one brother, Robert Herron.

He is survived by two brothers, James (Yoriko) of Saint Cloud, Fla., and Richard of Lincoln City, Ore.; and three sisters, Carol Puskarich (Randy) of Bentleyville, Rebecca (Dave) of Washington, and Nancy (Floyd) of Bentleyville. He is also survived by his niece, Barbara Herron Egawa, who served as his caregiver; several other loving nieces and nephews, along with many cousins who knew him since childhood.

Internment will be in Scenery Hill.
