Eric L. Briggs

Eric L. Briggs, 59, of Hickory, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

He was born March 6, 1962, in Washington, a son of Shirley Wolf Briggs of Hickory and the late Kay L. Briggs.

Mr. Briggs was a 1980 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and attended Penn Commercial in Washington.

Eric worked out of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 57, Local 2006 in Pittsburgh.

He was a member of the Hickory United Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Briggs enjoyed his work, working for friends, and helping them out whenever needed. He was everyone’s best friend.

Eric loved his sports and Southern Rock and Roll.

Surviving in addition to his mother; are a brother, Eugene Briggs and his wife Patty, of Hickory; a sister, Tammy Lander and her husband Ben Jr., of McKees Rocks; a nephew, Benjamin Lander III; a niece, Lauren Lander; and many cousins and friends.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2022, in the Hickory UEP Church, 210 Main Street, Hickory, PA 15340, where services will begin at 11 a.m., with Louis Templeton officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the church, or to the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Co., 106 Main Street, Hickory, PA 15340.
