William August Arnal
William August “Bill” Arnal, 84, of Charleroi, died on Sunday, February 13, 2022, in his daughter’s home, surrounded by family.
He was born on September 24, 1937, in Canonsburg, a son of the late August and Caroleen Harmison Arnal.
Bill was a graduate of Trinity High School.
Mr. Arnal had worked at Kroger, Giant Eagle, and Ashmore Florist.
A huge fan of fast cars, Bill was so proud of his Ford Mustang Cobra Jet. He also enjoyed watching football and college wrestling, and he loved his granddogs.
On October 30, 1974, he married Lila Pirrung, who died on January 28, 2016.
Surviving are a son, John (Patty) Atkinson, of Washington; a daughter, Janet Atkinson, of Charleroi; a brother, Sam Arnel, of Washington; a sister, Carol (Fred) Cushey, of Washington; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a daughter, Elizabeth McCorkle.
A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 1 until 2 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Military Rites will immediately follow at the funeral home, at 2 p.m., by the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion, and the United States Army.
